Aren't peonies pretty? I love them!

Anyway...last week I made another dress for Quinn using the same pattern as the other 2 dresses. I've decided to call it the P.I.M.B dress because it was a huge pain in my butt. You'd think I would be a pro at this dress by now, but I decided to make a tiered skirt and it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Oh well. Here it is. I think it turned out good - just don't look on the inside. 

Father's Day

Poor dads...they never seem to get as much credit as moms do. Maybe that's because they didn't grow a baby inside them for 9 months and then have to push it out a small hole on their body.

Marshall is an amazing dad. Those two have so much fun together and it's crazy how much she learns from him! He taught her how to count on her fingers the other day. I try to teach her stuff and she pretty much ignores me. Oh well. He also researches everything - car seats, vitamins, strollers, toys, bath products, videos, food - making sure his kid has the best and safest stuff.

Thanks Marsh - Quinn is one lucky little girl!

Then there's my dad...

He watched the smurfs with me, built me things, took me to soccer practice, made me encouraged me to play the flute, taught me to drive a stick, and even took me to get my eyebrow pierced when I was 15. Thanks for being such an awesome dad! I love you!

I am a sewing MACHINE! Red & White Dress

Remember this dress?

Well, it's not my favorite and it's a little too big.  

Anyway...I picked up some really cute fabric the other day and made this dress.

I used the same pattern from "One Yard Wonders," but modified it a little bit by shorting the skirt, rounding the neck line, and adding a button. I like this version so much better! And if I tie a blue belt around it, instead of the red one I made, it will make a great 4th of July dress!

The Three Little Bears

Don't look so sad bears.

I've had babies on the brain these last couple months. My friends have had sweet babies (and some have them are still in the oven) and I haven't managed to get any of them anything (bad friend! bad friend!). I wanted to make them all something, so I found a cute stuffed bear pattern from the book "One Yard Wonders." These bears were so easy and I think they turned out pretty darn cute.

*Sigh* All these babies make me miss the days when I had a sweet little baby (and not a almost terrible almost 2 year old lol).

Saturday Adventures

Saturday was pretty action packed. First we headed to brunch at Tasty n Sons.

Yum! I let Marshall do the ordering since Quinn was getting crazy. He pretty much ordered half the menu and he was still hungry after we finished...so he ordered more hahahahaha :)

After our meal we made our way to Beacon Rock. I think it was our first and last trip there. 

Marshall carried Quinn on his back. I was so paranoid that she would lean over and make Marshall lose his balance and they would go tumbling down the face of the rock. 

I think I had vertigo the whole hike up. Everything was spinning in my peripheral vision.

Well, we made it down with no one falling to their deaths. Yay! So the next stop was the Bonneville Fish Hatchery and the Bonneville Lock and Dam.

The hatchery was so pretty. All old white buildings and pretty trees and flowers. 

It'd probably be a nice place for a wedding if it didn't smell like fish.

This is where they keep the fish. They had a bunch of different kinds - trout, sturgeon, salmon. 

Some of the fish are huge and can live up to 100 years!

We stopped to enjoy a plastic snack.

We headed home after the dam and stopped for a late lunch at Meat. Cheese. Bread. It was so good! Sorry no pictures. 

Quinn was getting pretty cranky so we drove to Laurelhurst Park to burn off some energy. This park is so pretty and the houses around most of it are gorgeous.

Although we had a fun day, both of us were thinking about Marshall's Grandpa Al. He passed away that morning. He was such a kind, caring and generous man. We'll miss his stories and jokes and just his presence. Thanks for everything G-Pa we love you.
