Saturday Adventures

Saturday was pretty action packed. First we headed to brunch at Tasty n Sons.

Yum! I let Marshall do the ordering since Quinn was getting crazy. He pretty much ordered half the menu and he was still hungry after we finished...so he ordered more hahahahaha :)

After our meal we made our way to Beacon Rock. I think it was our first and last trip there.

Marshall carried Quinn on his back. I was so paranoid that she would lean over and make Marshall lose his balance and they would go tumbling down the face of the rock.

I think I had vertigo the whole hike up. Everything was spinning in my peripheral vision.

The view from about halfway up the rock.

Quinn yawning. It's hard work riding on someone's back.

Well, we made it down with no one falling to their deaths. Yay! So the next stop was the Bonneville Fish Hatchery and the Bonneville Lock and Dam.

The hatchery was so pretty. All old white buildings and pretty trees and flowers.
It'd probably be a nice place for a wedding if it didn't smell like fish.

This is where they keep the fish. They had a bunch of different kinds - trout, sturgeon, salmon.
Some of the fish are huge and can live up to 100 years!

Dam!

Marshall and Quinn playing a fish game.

If you look closely you can see that there is a face hidden in the painting.

Cute energy saving house.
I told Marshall he needs to build one of these for Quinn.

We stopped to enjoy a plastic snack.

We headed home after the dam and stopped for a late lunch at Meat. Cheese. Bread. It was so good! Sorry no pictures.

Quinn was getting pretty cranky so we drove to Laurelhurst Park to burn off some energy. This park is so pretty and the houses around most of it are gorgeous.

Ducks!

Kissing Da.

On the prowl.

Our next house.

Although we had a fun day, both of us were thinking about Marshall's Grandpa Al. He passed away that morning. He was such a kind, caring and generous man. We'll miss his stories and jokes and just his presence. Thanks for everything G-Pa we love you.

Hiking

We've been having some beautiful weather! Today was a perfect day for a hike...

Airplane!

Hoping to see some ducks.

But alas, there was only "wa-wa."

We stopped to play in the creek.

Snack time.

Giant slug. We passed two of them and both times I freaked out. So gross!

Lunch time.

I am a sewing MACHINE! Part 3

I haven't been doing a whole lot of sewing lately, but I did get around to making some pillow case's...

And a tote bag for my Mom.

Oh, and  I finally finished the curtains for the living room. It's the track system from Ikea. What a pain in the butt. But they look nice.
Terrible picture.
Marshall installed the curtain rod and put up all the panels.
I just hemmed and put up the cloth curtains.

I've got a couple more sewing projects to get to, but first things first, and that is to finish the kitchen cabinets. And I'm sooo close to being done! Yay!

Marshall's 28th Birthday

My handsome husband turned 28 on Wednesday.

This is the 12th birthday of his that we've celebrated together - crazy! The very first birthday present I gave him was two packs of gum - ahahahaha! I think the presents have gotten better since then.

This year I made him German chocolate cupcakes, tacos and I bought him some peonies (those were really more for me though).

Love you Marsh!

Happy Mother's Day!

I love Mother's Day! I think it should probably happen more than just once a year though...

Today Marshall let me sleep in, got Quinn dressed, changed her poopy diaper, took me to brunch, watched Quinn while I did something I wanted to do, put up the curtain rods in the guest bedroom and our bedroom, put these leafs from Ikea up in Quinn's room, cleaned the kitchen and last but not least emptied Finney's litter box. What a guy, right?! Don't worry - I'll remember this come Father's Day :)

Who knew being a mom was so dang hard? So, thanks Mom for giving birth to me and changing my poopy diapers and taking me to concerts and making my prom dresses. I know I wasn't always the easiest child...If only I knew then what I know now, I would have been a perfect angel! I don't know how you did this four times. I love you!

And thanks to my darling Quinnie. Without her I wouldn't be a mother and thus would not get to experience the joys of Mother's Day...and motherhood :) You're an amazing little lady and I'm so lucky I get to be your mom.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

What a Zoo!

Today we went to the zoo with our friends Mari and Logan. We had so much fun and the weather was perfect!

I'm feeding a Lorikeet. I think this was taken after I got freaked out by one
flying at me and fell on the ground. Super embarrassing...

Quinn really liked them.

Logan: "Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!"

Riding the zoo train.

Our new Nike shoes.

Checking out the tigers.

We shared an elephant ear. We felt we deserved it after we ran to the train.

More please!
