Here is my faceless self portrait. It's totally embarrassing and I'm not actually in it.
It's my messy house. This is pretty typical of our living room until we have guests over (then the house is pretty spotless). I leave my unfinished craft projects where ever, eat at the coffee table, Marshall leaves water glasses out for days, Quinn has toys strewn everywhere, there may or may not be a dirty diaper somewhere near by. We are having guests over tomorrow though, so at least it will be clean for a couple hours.

Day 19 & 20: something orange & bokeh
.I've been really slacking on this challenge lately (what's new), so I thought I'd kill two days with one picture. We went to an apple farm today. We didn't get to pick any, but we did get to ride behind a tractor and sample some apple cider. There were some pumpkins there, just laying on the ground. I'm pretty sure they didn't grow them. Anyway, that's my orange pic. And...does anyone else know what bokeh is? The only reason I kind of know is because I pinned a cool picture/tutorial on Pinterest. And I'm pretty sure I didn't do it right, but oh well.
Here are a couple more pictures from our trip to the farm.

Day 18: my shoes
These are my favorite shoes.
I got them at a store in Phoenix - it was on a road trip home and we stopped to feed Quinn and stretch our legs. I saw this shop that was going out of business and found these awesome Nine West leopard print shoes for only $9. They were really snug and I almost didn't get them, but I decided to chose fashion over comfort. I also found some cute Steve Madden shoes for $20. They had a peep toe and a gold buckle (not pictured). I bought both pairs. Later that day - several hours away from the shop - I discovered the Steve Madden shoes were two different sizes and both left feet. I was so mad! Why didn't I check before we left the store!? Why didn't the sales lady check before she rang them up!? And to make things worse the store was going to close forever the next day. Luckily I was able to call the store and tell them what happened. So, I shipped the lady one shoe and she shipped me the other. Few (wipe the sweat away), I almost thought I was out 20 bucks. Anyway, I think I've worn the Steve Madden shoes twice hahahaha. But I managed to stretch the leopard pair our pretty well and I wear them all the time. They are super comfortable and leopard print pretty much goes with everything :) Sadly, they are on their last...foot. Maybe I can get them resoled.
Oh, and here is a cute technology picture.

Day 17: technology
Wow. I've been really slacking on this lately. And I have no excuse other than laziness.
Anyway, so here is a picture of my camera. What would I do without it? It's usually attached to my hip (literally and figuratively). So far this year we've taken 5,066 pictures. That's up from last years 3,868. Most of them are of Quinn.
Sexy camera, huh? I cannot take credit for this photo though (man, I'm on a roll! (hahahahaha that would have been a good pun if cameras still used film)). My brother-in-law Mike took it.

I've been in a crafting rut lately. Even Marshall's been more crafty. Look at this awesome cardboard house he made for Q! I'll have to decorate it one of these days...
Anyway, I really wanted to learn to knit. My pal Lauren learned to knit really fast and now makes these super cute creatures (check out her Etsy shop here). So, long story short I gave up...Anyway, since I already know how to crochet I decided I wanted to try making amigurumi (the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures). Here is my first attempt.
Here is the tutorial from Very Berry Handmade if you are interested in trying to make your very own. It was pretty easy and fast to crochet and the instructions were easy to follow.

Day 15: silhouette
So, I didn't take any pictures today like I was going to (shocker), but I did get to go see Harry Potter! I stopped at Trader Joe's before the movie and got some candy coated licorice and fizzy water for $2.98. I probably would have paid $10 for that at the theater - as it was it cost $10.50 just for the ticket. Anyone else remember when movies were like $7. Anyway, the movie was really good - not as good as the book and not as good as I had hoped, but I've been kind of building it up in my head a lot.
So here is my photo for the day:

Well I didn't actually take this photo...because it's a picture of me and Quinn :)

Day 14: Eyes
These are Quinn's eyes and eye. I was going to put up a picture of Finney's eyes, but I don't know where he is and I couldn't find a good picture of them. Did you know that in 2008 I took nearly 130 pictures of Finney and in 2009...I only took 2?! hahahahaha! Poor Finney.
This is my favorite picture of Finney, my first baby.
This is what he turned into.

day 13: me with 13 things
Another last minute photo.
Here I am lying on the kitchen floor with 13 pennies. I've counted them 3 times now hahahaha

Day 11: something blue
What is wrong with me lately?! I usually love snapping pictures. You would think this challenge would motivate me, but sadly it hasn't...Anyway, here is my last minute, kinda lame picture. It's a blue chair from our dining room.

Day 10: childhood memory
I remember playing with regular sized light-brights. Punching holes with the little "lights" and making cool designs. Those were the days...Here's Quinn playing on a giant light-bright at the Children's Museum. It's not the best picture and it's not even from today, but I'm feeling lazy. What's new?

Chump
So...I'm chumping yesterday, today and tomorrow on the photo challenge. Lame.

Day 8: bad habit
Here are two bad habits - 1: Quinn picking her nose and 2: Mommy and Daddy giving into sweets way too often.

Day 7: fruit
I just got my Organics to You box and it was full of pears and heirloom tomatoes, among other things. Anyone like pablano peppers?

Trader Joe's Mini Croissants
Last week I was in a baking mood and decided to try making croissants from scratch. They took a long time to make it and in the end weren't all that great. Of course I didn't take a picture, but they were pretty small, not flaky, and I kind of burnt them.
Anyway, I went to Trader Joe's and saw these frozen croissants and thought I'd give them a try.
You have to let them thaw for 7 to 9 hours so they rise. So, I left them out overnight in the oven. Marshall baked them this morning and they were great! Flaky, buttery, good sized, and 150 calories.

Day 4: something green
Here is my original cloud picture meant for yesterday...
Today's challenge was to photograph something green. I took a couple pictures today :)
Here's some green gum.
Here's Quinn in a green and white dress hanging on a green rail with some green trees.
Green sign.
This isn't green, but it's cute. It's Quinn trying to ride her "hortsey."

Day 3: clouds
Ok so I am posting this using my phone. That's how dedicated I am to this challenge! I took a pic of a chalk cloud because there were no clouds today (figures the one day I want some clouds there are none), but the pic is on my camera...anyway here is a picture with clouds in it.

Day 2: what I wore today
I feel like this is another self portrait...
Today I wore my standard uniform: jeans, t-shirt, flats. I so want to be on that show "What Not to Wear." Then I could get $5,000 to buy a whole new wardrobe with the help of professional stylists! No more jeans and t-shirts, instead I would wear smart skirts and blouses and high heeled shoes that would help my posture, which would make me look thinner. So, who wants to secretly video tape me wearing frumpy clothes and no make-up? We would both get to be on TV and I would share my new wardrobe with you :)
Anyway...what did you wear today?
